Graphic/Logo Design Process
Let's work together to maximize your brand identity and print collateral.
What is the Strategy Phase?
The Strategy Phase involves working with clients to uncover all the information needed to devise a design plan such as project goals, target audiences and key messages.
What is the Design Phase?
The Design Phase utilizes the parameters learned in the Strategy Phase to create design options and map the aesthetic path of the project for client approval.
What is the Implementation Phase?
This phase is where projects come to life and get built in the appropriate digital format. Clients get to review proofs and approve deliverables.
How do we get started on a website?
First, I like to have a detailed conversation with you about your project. We'll discuss your business and creative goals, your time-line, budget and target audiences.
What are costs likely to be?
After an initial conversation, I will prepare a free formal proposal for you. This document will give you a detailed look at the proposed project scope, including deliverables, web technologies to be used, time line and costs.
How long will it take?
There are many variables in website design that will determine the length of the project. A common delay can be delivery of content from the client. Having said that, depending on the desired features, most web projects take between 4 and 8 weeks. Faster time-lines are possible and can be discussed.
What is your website methodology?
My work methodology centers around three main phases previously mentioned. Depending on project complexity, there may be several appropriate sub-phases. Before the project begins, you will have a detailed methodology as described in your formal proposal.
Can you help with domain names etc.?
Yes. Domain names and web hosting will be purchased separately by you, but I can definitely guide you through that process. I can show you the different vendor options and what they are likely to cost.
How do we start a print design project?
First, I like to have a detailed conversation with you about your graphic or logo design project. We'll discuss your business and creative goals, your time-line, budget and target audiences. We'll also discuss print quantities, paper quality and printing methods to be used.
What are costs likely to be?
After an initial conversation, I will prepare a free formal proposal for you. This document will give you a detailed look at the proposed project scope, including deliverables, time line and costs. I will quote your print project to the printer for you if needed. I do not mark up printing costs. The printer we choose will invoice you directly for printing. I do charge a small fee for print management.
How long will my print project take?
There are many variables in graphic design that will determine the length of the project. A common delay can be delivery of content from the client. Printers have their own schedules that must be adhered to and that is a large factor in the overall time-line.
What is your collateral methodology?
My methodology centers around the three main phases mentioned earlier. Depending project complexity, there may be several appropriate sub-phases. Before the project begins, you will have a detailed methodology as described in your formal proposal.
Can you help with the final printing?
Yes. I have a select group of printers I use frequently and will get your project quoted for you. I will prepare the pre-press files for the printer and track the job through proof stage for you. You will be invoiced separately by the printer for the actual printing of your project.
